Are you looking to further your purchasing or procurement career? Our market leading client based in Thirsk is seeking an experienced Assistant Buyer to join their Purchasing Team.
As Assistant Buyer, you will become a member of the Purchasing Team, supporting the business to procure and expedite a range of key materials and components that are critical to the successful operation.
In this role you will be multi-skilled in both direct / in-direct procurement activities associated with a large, multi-site manufacturing operation and construction environment, ensuring that goods are procured efficiently, competitively and on-time.
You’ll support the purchasing function with the procurement of goods and services ensuring that specification, quality, and commercial requirements are met. You’ll liaise with internal stakeholders advising of progress and expected delivery dates of specific steel materials. In this role you’ll also be the processing vendor on boarding applications whilst carrying out due diligence to ensure that minimum entry requirements are met for new suppliers, you’ll be setting up new vendor accounts, and monitoring and maintaining the internal procurement and financial systems.
To be successful in this role you’ll need to be able to communicate well with internal and external stakeholders, and also have knowledgeable IT skills.
You’ll also be required to have at least one years experience in a procurement role and have some understanding of the manufacturing/ construction industry.
