Our client is a progressive and expanding family business established in 1989, they offer a vast range of products to a wide customer base. They are looking to recruit a Buyer / Supply Chain Manager to join their successful team and oversee one member of staff. This is an exciting opportunity to work with their senior sales and management teams to manage stockholdings, drive quality and improve their commercial advantage by skilful negotiation.

Key Responsibilities:
Communicate effectively with supply partners at senior level
Identify best sources and negotiate terms with supply partners including offshore manufacturers
Manage supply chains and ensure ethical standards are adhered to
Specify requirements and manage wearer trials and supply chain audits
Ensure that correct stock levels are maintained for core products, using forecasting models
Work with sales team to provide fast solutions to everyday enquiries

Candidate experience:
The successful candidate will have had experience in B2B purchasing and sourcing at a senior level, including dealing with sources in the Far East and Europe as well as the UK, and will have proven skill in negotiation and supply chain management. You must also be able to manage and motivate a small team.

You will ideally have had experience in clothing or a similar business and have some understanding of garment technology and testing standards (this is preferable, not essential). You must have attention to detail and be capable of forecasting stock requirements and adapting to changing conditions.
